Bishop's Visit Ignites a New Chapter at Holy Cross Academy

Under the serene embrace of faith and knowledge, Holy Cross Academy, Kurla, stepped into a new chapter of its journey on September 14th, 2024. The school, brimming with promise and purpose, was blessed by His Lordship Bishop Dominic Savio, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bombay. This sacred moment, followed by a solemn Eucharistic celebration, set the foundation for an institution committed to nurturing both minds and souls.

The day's proceedings commenced with a sacred blessing of the school premises, as His Lord-ship sprinkled holy water, invoking divine grace upon the students, staff, and classrooms. His words carried a profound message, one that resonated deeply with all present:

"Education is not just about academic success but about shaping individuals of character, wisdom, and integrity.

Following the blessing, the school community gathered at Holy Cross Church, Kurla, for a special Mass-a moment of collective prayer, gratitude, and reflection. The school choir, their voices soaring in perfect harmony, enriched the atmosphere with soulful hymns, making the ceremony all the more moving. His Lordship, deeply moved by the students' devotion, com-mended their active role in leading the liturgy, recognizing their commitment and spiritual fervour. In his homily, he urged them to walk the path of kindness, knowledge, and compassion, embracing both their studies and their values with equal zeal. 

As the ceremony unfolded, Principal Ms. Arlene Gomes took a moment to express her gratitude saying:

"This blessing is a powerful reminder of our school's mission-not just to impart knowledge, but to instill values of empathy, service, and righteousness in every child who walks through our doors.

The event was graced by local dignitaries, parents, and well-wishers, all of whom echoed their support for the Academy's vision. To conclude the day's proceedings, His Lordship toured the newly constructed classrooms and facilities, offering prayers for the school's continued success and the bright future of its students.
